Since I don't get the chance to take outfit photos very often anymore, I thought I'd share my selfies for those of you that don't follow me on instagram. This is from the past few months, hope the low quality isn't too distracting :P Oh, & that's an ipad mini, not a giant phone, since I get that a lot, haha!

HANDMADE TOP & SKIRT // SWATCH CARAMELLISSIMA // TOPSHOP HAIR BOW // CALLOOH & CALLAY NECKLACE // ASOS SHOES // TOPSHOP SOCKS
Finally had the chance for outfit photos yesterday, Carl & I went to a local park with lakes, and had a picnic, which was lovely. The little mouse pictured below seemed to want to join us, haha! The weather is still lovely, so I wore a handmade crop top & skirt set that I made a while back. I think I've shown you both pieces worn separately, but not together before. I really love matching 2 piece sets though, I should make more!
Anyone else been enjoying the hot weather? I would prefer if it was slightly cooler, but the sunshine makes me happy, so it's still preferable to rain & clouds, haha.

So, kinda exciting news, I've finally decided to start making clothing for others! I just added these 2 designs to Dolly Darling, they are available for the time being only in plus sizes (going to see how it goes before I add more sizes, and being plus sized I know how hard it is to find cute clothes above a size 20, so that's my focus). I really hope you all like this, over the years I've got quite a few requests for clothes, but never felt confident in my ability to do so before, so fingers crossed it all goes well. I've already got a few more ideas, and I want to add skirts pretty soon.

Sorry I haven't updated as much as I said I would...I am useless! Anyway, just wanted to share one of the things I've been up to lately, making new headbands for Dolly Darling. I've also been doing some more sewing - which I plan to show you in my next post, which should be up within the next few days.
My most recent creation is another deer headband, but instead of the usual flowers, I made it pic'n'mix themed. The antlers are even candy striped (I was hoping they'd look like marshmallow strips, but not sure how successful that was). The ears are made with candy speckled wool instead of plain, so I am super happy with the way these came out.

The floral kitten headband I've had in my shop for a while, and you've seen one on me in a few recent outfit posts, but not sure I've shared a proper picture with you. I used one of my latest crafts I've learnt to make the ears - needle felting! I actually did a post on my other foray into needle felting here, but I haven't ventured into 3d felting yet, still a bit intimidating.

HANDMADE DRESS // ASOS SHOES // H&M CARDIGAN // ASOS SHEER HEART SOCKS // DOLLY DARLING BROOCH // NEW LOOK DAISY BUN TIES
Hello again everyone! See, I said I'd try & post more often, this outfit is from the other day, when Carl & I walked back from lunch in a nearby town. We were planning to take photos in the aquadrome there, but it started to rain, so we decided to head back before we got there. The weather brightened up on the way home though, so we took some photos on the moor, & I also snapped a few images of the scenery. We met a lovely cat, who started meowing from a bush as we walked past. I thought it was a fox cub or something, but then turned around to find a cat. I got to give it a fuss before it ran through my legs, I think it was on the hunt. We also saw some farm dogs, ducks, bunnies & a squirrel, but sadly wasn't fast enough to snap a picture of the wild animals!
The dress is one of my latest creations. I've had this fabric for ages (I got it printed at Spoonflower, it features my old shop logo), & I finally got around to sewing it into a dress. I originally intended to make a Lolita dress with it, but since I don't often wear full on Lolita much anymore, I made it shorter, with less skirt volume & put a heart cut-out in the bodice. I've wanted a dress with a heart cut-out for years, so I am happy to finally have one. I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to do the heart, but I managed it, even if the heart ended up not being centred, annoyingly!

ASOS CURVE SKIRT // SOUTH CARDIGAN (HAND EMBELLISHED) // ASOS SHOES // EVANS BLOUSE // TKMAXX BAG // MAGASIN BIRD RING // DOLLY DARLING FLORAL KITTEN HEADBAND // DOLLY DARLING POM POM RING // DOLLY DARLING RAINBOW QUARTZ RING // 100% SUZI BROOCH* // TIGHTS C/O OF THE BIG TIGHTS COMPANY
Hello again everyone! Sorry it's been such a long time since I last posted, I've been pretty busy over the last few months and haven't had a chance to update the blog. After a lovely picnic in a local park, my boyfriend and I wandered down by the canal, I finally got some outfit photos for you, so I hope you enjoy.
I was sent these tights by The Big Tights Company a while back, in deep pink, to review. I am always on the lookout for new places to buy tights in my size, it's so hard to find decent ones that fit and are comfortable!
Anyway, on to my review - I got these tights in the largest size, which is a size 34-36. I'm not that size, but with tights I always try and size up, because they usually come up small, whatever the brand! They do fit well, but I'm not entirely convinced that they would fit the size advertised, but maybe a size or two larger than me. These particular tights come in 3 colours, pink, black and purple. I chose the pink, obviously. They are pretty thick and feel like they will wear well.
For comparisons sake they are thicker and feel firmer than my We Love Colors tights, they are also a bit shinier. I also didn't have a problem with them falling down, which I do tend to with my We Love Colors tights. They bunched a bit around the ankles, but the waistband stayed firmly in place. I also have a problem with tights because of my height (5'9), but these had plenty of length in the legs, so I didn't have a problem with them.
The only downsides to these tights are the price (£16.95), but I usually have to pay about £10 each + international shipping + customs fees for my We Love Colors, so they are probably a similar price overall, and obviously being based in the UK meant that they arrived quicker. Obviously there aren't as many colours, but next time I need new black tights I'm certainly going to be buying these. The company also offers other brands of plus size tights, which I would be interested to try, but I can't comment on those.
Sorry once again for my unplanned absence, I am going to try & post a lot more regularly now that things have calmed down a bit!

MISS REAL CURVE SKIRT // ASOS JUMPER // ROCKETDOG MARY JANES* // MEADHAM KIRCHOFF FOR TOPSHOP PINK BOWS // PRIMARK BAG // CHEAP FRILLS NECKLACE & RINGS // DOLLY DARLING DEER HEADBAND
Sorry I look so windswept in these pictures, it was, as you can tell, very windy when we took these photos! It was also pretty cold, but I had my faux fur coat to wear on top, I just took it off for pictures. Unintentionally all my jewellery is from Cheap Frills, I really love Georgia's creations, & I recently bought the Aphrodite mood ring, & got a cute robin ring free!
We took these pictures outside St Albans cathedral, Carl & I went to the Christmas Market there (which incidentally wasn't that great, but we had a fun day nonetheless). I did buy some Wu & Wu tins from a cute shop called Con Mi Go though, & the shopkeeper was super nice, she complimented my hair (it wasn't quite so frizzy & windswept at this point!) & headband, haha!
Can't believe Christmas is so close now. I'm planning on making a gingerbread house from scratch at the beginning of the week, so might document how that turns out, if it isn't a total fail anyway. I've now wrapped everything & am just now excited to give them to everyone. Gift giving is one of my favourite things to do, although I always get so anxious about people liking things, eek!
P.S. I just added lots more clothes to my blog sale shop, do check it out!

NEW LOOK DRESS // (HAND EMBELLISHED) SOUTH CARDIGAN // SOUTH SKIRT // ASOS SHOES // CHEAP FRILLS NECKLACE // TED BAKER RING // DOLLY DARLING DEER HEADBAND // BAG FROM A GIFT SHOP IN NORTH WALES
Well, I promised to take more pics of the cardigan I needle felted, not sure if these constitute better though - they are blurrier than I anticipated. Must have turned the f stop on the camera too low-oops! You get the idea though! Just wore a lot of older stuff, nothing new here for a change. Although the cardigan felt like new because of the flowers I added. I've been doing some more needle felting, I made some stand-alone pieces yesterday, not 3d, but still cute. I should probably take pictures to show you all.
The dogs were fascinated to watch me having outfit pictures taken, don't they look adorable?!
Button didn't want to miss his opportunity for stardom either, hehe.
