Recently the lovely people at Betty's asked me if I'd like to try one of their hampers to celebrate Yorkshire Day, which is today, August the 1st. Of course I said yes, and the other day I received a large box crammed full of lovely Yorkshire made treats!
They sent over a box of macarons, florentines, chocolate ganache bees, tea, fondant fancies, and some "Fat Rascals", which are their own special scones, along with a cute little branded Betty's mug. Everything was delightfully packaged, in cute patterned boxes, illustrated with all sorts of cakes & goodies.
Carl & I decided to have a little tea party for two, to celebrate him moving in. We made little finger sandwiches, & I arranged everything on pretty plates, & had ourselves a feast. We ended up with plenty left over, as the cakes were very filling.
My favourite things were the little bumble bees, they look almost too adorable to eat! The macarons were also a nice treat, as I've only every had one professionally made one before, I've made them in the past, but never having anything to compare them too, wasn't sure if I was making them correctly.
Overall it was a lovely treat, and I would definitely recommend ordering a hamper from Betty's for a special occasion, as their cakes have that extra "something". Or, if you are local to Yorkshire, I believe they serve afternoon tea in their tea rooms, so definitely pop in if you are in the area! I know we will be if we ever find ourselves up there.

Tsum Tsums! These recently went on sale in the Disney store, & I had to get some! I bought myself Marie, Miss Bunny & Lady, & my lovely boyfriend got me Bambi, Thumper & Dumbo. They are only £3 each, which I thought was reasonable. They do bigger sizes, but I liked the minis the best, plus they had the most variation! They are so cute!
The Body Shop! I honestly hadn't been in here since I was about 11 or so, when I used to go shopping with school friends and they would drag me in here. I saw a few youtube videos reviewing some of the things they had in there recently, so I thought I'd take a look. Of course, I completely forgot what I was searching for when I got in there, so I just looked at the things that looked most appealing. I picked up the grapefruit body scrub, & the strawberry body sorbet. Both smell delicious, especially the sorbet, which also has the most gorgeous texture & leaves my skin feeling really soft.
I then looked up online what I had wanted to get, which was the bouncy sleeping mask, so I placed an order on the site too. I also got another sorbet, the mango scented one, because I love the strawberry one so much! They have an offer at the minute to get up to 30% off, & a free gift when you spend over £10, the code is on their site, which I used, & got the Satsuma body polish pictured. I didn't realise it would be full size, so I was rather impressed when it arrived!
Fresh flowers! I got sent these lovely roses recently by Debenhams Flower Delivery service, & they smelled so nice! I am terrible at flower arranging though, & couldn't get them to look half as nice as in the picture, but they still brightened up the room considerably! Normally I buy myself cheaper flowers from grocery stores like tulips or daffodils, so it was such a treat to have a proper bouquet. They looked even nicer when the freesias bloomed fully, but I didn't get a picture of that, sadly. If you'd like to get 25% off a bouquet, you can use the code DFBLOG25!
Walter! Like I said in my last post I went away to Wales a week or so ago, so I got to spend lots of time with this lovely monster. I didn't take any outfit posts up there like I said I would, the weather was pretty terrible, but I still had a nice time.
Presents! Carl & I came home a week before my family, & they brought back this cute little figurine for me, how sweet of them!

DOLLY DARLING DRESS // ASDA CARDIGAN // PRIMARK BOW // NEXT SANDALS // KUKI SHOP BRACELET
Blogging more often is not going well, as you probably can tell. Anyway, here's an outfit from the other day. Spring is officially here, so cotton dresses & sandals it is! I'm going away next week with the family & boyfriend to North Wales, so will hopefully get a chance to take photos more often up there. Hope you are all well,

Since I don't get the chance to take outfit photos very often anymore, I thought I'd share my selfies for those of you that don't follow me on instagram. This is from the past few months, hope the low quality isn't too distracting :P Oh, & that's an ipad mini, not a giant phone, since I get that a lot, haha!

So, kinda exciting news, I've finally decided to start making clothing for others! I just added these 2 designs to Dolly Darling, they are available for the time being only in plus sizes (going to see how it goes before I add more sizes, and being plus sized I know how hard it is to find cute clothes above a size 20, so that's my focus). I really hope you all like this, over the years I've got quite a few requests for clothes, but never felt confident in my ability to do so before, so fingers crossed it all goes well. I've already got a few more ideas, and I want to add skirts pretty soon.

NEW LOOK TOP // DOROTHY PERKINS SKIRT // VERY CARDIGAN // LE BUNNY BLEU SHOES // SWATCH CARAMELLISSIMA // MEADHAM KIRCHOFF TOPSHOP HAIR BOW // MERRYFIELD POTTERY BISCUIT BROOCHES // MOONBUNNY BEAR RING
Today I have crazy poodle hair, and I love it! I did my hair in pin curls last night, for the first time ever, and this morning I unpinned & brushed though, & ended up with candyfloss hair. I might have to do this more often, it took about 30 minutes to pin it, which isn't too bad, considering the amount of hair I have. I usually don't do much with my hair, and prefer low effort things (I usually keep it braided when I am home), so this was a nice change.
I was sent this top by New Look Inspire recently, isn't it lovely? The back has this lovely double bow detail, & the fact it's pink makes me happy. I wore it with this skirt I bought from Dorothy Perkins a little while ago, I can't get enough of broderie trim skirts, and this one has a coral lining which makes it look pinkish.

I bought this plain wooden dining table & chairs from Argos a while ago, and painted it to make it more me! I took inspiration from some Cath Kidston plates I have, and did a scalloped edge design with rose centre on the table, & then painted all the chairs different pastel shades. This took what seemed like forever, the chairs were actually the hardest part, because they were so fiddly to paint and varnish.
The lovely people over at Joules recently sent me this duvet cover & matching pillowcases. The design is lovely, and the fabric sooo soft compared to all my other duvet covers. Definitely the most luxury bedding I own, now to get some sheets that match!
Today I made this lampshade, using this kit I bought on Amazon. I used my leftover Spoonflower fabric, and made it in about 30 mins or so. It's not perfect, but not bad for a first attempt. There was lots of leftover tape, so I also added some lace that I had to accent the edges. What do you think?
Finally, how cute is my kettle? I keep calling it a teapot, because it looks so much like one. It's ceramic, I'd been putting off buying a kettle for ages because I couldn't find any I liked, but then I spotted this one at Dunelm Mill, & had to get it.

Sorry I haven't updated as much as I said I would...I am useless! Anyway, just wanted to share one of the things I've been up to lately, making new headbands for Dolly Darling. I've also been doing some more sewing - which I plan to show you in my next post, which should be up within the next few days.
My most recent creation is another deer headband, but instead of the usual flowers, I made it pic'n'mix themed. The antlers are even candy striped (I was hoping they'd look like marshmallow strips, but not sure how successful that was). The ears are made with candy speckled wool instead of plain, so I am super happy with the way these came out.
♥ ♥ ♥
The floral kitten headband I've had in my shop for a while, and you've seen one on me in a few recent outfit posts, but not sure I've shared a proper picture with you. I used one of my latest crafts I've learnt to make the ears - needle felting! I actually did a post on my other foray into needle felting here, but I haven't ventured into 3d felting yet, still a bit intimidating.

I know I've mentioned this before, but I've added lots of new stuff to my clothes sale shop here. I added lots of jewellery and accessories today, but there is also lots of clothes, many of which you've seen in outfit posts across the years. Please do take a minute to have a look. :)

Recently I was sent some cute stuff by the online shop Blippo.com. They specialise in everything kawaii, ranging from cute stationery, to Japanese magazines, to accessories & more. I picked out a few cute things to try, including an ice cream shaped sundae glass (though made out of plastic) & spoon, some "mixed drops" (chosen because I liked the Hello Kitty tin, & a cute DIY food craft kit thingy. They also sent me some orange flavoured chewy candy & a key ring.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥I've tried the mixed drops (which are boiled sweets covered in icing sugar), which were nice, mainly fruit flavoured, but I was a bit surprised to try a green one & find out it was mint flavoured! The tin is adorable though, Hello Kitty is made of clouds & it's pink & has rainbows, so automatically awesome. I'm going to use it to store trinkets or craft supplies in once all the sweets are gone. I've also tried the orange candy, it was nice, very chewy & had these weird gummy things in that looks like the sacs of juice in a real orange. Candy from other countries is always fun to try, it's usually so different. In the past I've mainly tried American stuff, usually receiving it in craft swaps and such, so it was a nice change to try Japanese things.
The DIY craft food kit thingy I've opened but not made yet, though I might do a separate post on that at some point. It looks fun though, & I think they sell it for something like £3 something, which seems pretty decent, as kits like this can often be overpriced. The sundae cup is adorable, I can't decide yet whether I actually want to use it for it's purpose, or do what I was originally going to do, & store cute bits & pieces in it. Probably the latter, because I rarely, (if ever!) make sundaes at home. The shipping was pretty quick too, from Hong Kong to the UK took around a week I think. No customs charges either, which is always good! So yes, would definitely recommend a look if you like all things cute like me!
I hope you all are well, & looking forward to Christmas (or other holiday!). I know I said in my last post I had to cook Christmas dinner this year, but plans have changed, my grandparents recently invited us to theirs, so looks like I don't have to struggle with doing that, this year at least, haha! Thanks for all your tips though, I am sure they will come in useful for me in the future (should probably learn how to cook properly at some point after all!). I've been feeling quite Christmassy today, I was wrapping presents the other night, & today I picked up a Playmobil advent calendar after seeing some Youtubers open theirs. It's pretty awesome! Charlotte got one too, & it was super fun catching up to day 4 all in one go. So far I have 2 trees, 2 badgers, 2 squirrels, a bird, some snow, cauliflowers & a tree stump, haha!
Will update again soon, I have a few more photos to share, I might ramble on some more (I think I probably talked too much in this post!

A few of you noticed this cute little camera in the background on my last few posts, so I thought I'd do a quick review on it. I bought it a month or so ago, just for fun. I've wanted an instant camera for literally years (who else wanted one of those polaroid mini sticker cameras when they were a kid?), but never bought one, because I have a dslr & a compact camera & I didn't really *need* an instant one, so it was hard to justify to myself. I ended up losing (or winning, depending on your viewpoint) that battle with myself & ended up buying one anyway!
I chose the pink version, obviously. It also comes in blue, yellow, white, black & I think brown. I've also seen a Hello Kitty one whilst browsing Google images, not sure if that was a limited edition, or something. I paid £63.75 for mine on Amazon, & £11.26 for 2 packets of film. I don't think the price of the actual camera is too bad, it's just the film that is rather expensive! For each packet of film, you get 10 shots, so each photo ended up costing around 60p. You can also buy film with patterned borders, like Rilakkuma, Disney Princess, dots, Cath Kidston prints, etc, which was really tempting for the cuteness factor, but was double the price of the normal film, so I didn't bother!
As you can see, I've decorated my camera with lots of bunny & food stickers (these were sent to me a few years ago by the lovely Kim of Oborocharms), as if it wasn't cute enough just being pink, haha. What can I say, I just like cute stuff!
The camera is pretty easy to use, just push the button to pop the lens out & it automatically turns on. Loading the film is a breeze, clicking simply into place. The photos themselves are about business card size. It was weird at first to have a camera with only a viewfinder, haha, but as my dslr requires looking through the viewfinder to take pictures too, I got used to it quickly.
I've taken 11 photos with it so far, 2 of which came out horribly, because I put it on the wrong light settings, eek! It has 5 light settings, indoors, cloudy, daylight, bright & I think an auto one. I had it on bright when I was indoors, so they came out really dark, oops! The picture quality itself is okay, nothing special, but it's the fun factor that I really love, & the fact you can have the photos in your hand instantly.
I've found it tricky to focus close-up though, as the camera has no focusing feature, you just click & hope for the best. Photos from more of a distance seem to come out better, so I shall try not to get too close to the subject in future. The photo size is described as credit/business card size, which is pretty accurate. These are a great size for keeping in your wallet (if you do that!), I've got all mine stored in my dressing table drawer at the minute, trying to think of some way to store or display them nicely.
Verdict: fun inexpensive camera (excluding the film-could get really expensive over time!), good for taking snapshots & having as an extra camera. Wouldn't advice one of these as your only camera though, for obvious reasons. What do you think, have you got an instant camera, or have you ever wanted one?

ALICE & YOU TARTAN DRESS C/O OF VOUCHERCODES.CO.UK // ASOS BOOTS C/O OF VOUCHERCODES.CO.UK // TOPSHOP SOCKS // H&M JUMPER // TOPSHOP HEADBOW // CHEAP FRILLS NECKLACE*
I did a challenge last year with the people at Most Wanted (the lifestyle magazine for vouchercodes.co.uk), & this year they challenged me again to buy key pieces to invigorate my wardrobe. I had a budget of £80, & 3 outfits to create in an Autumn/Winter trend, of which this is my first. I chose the trend Grungy Plaid, which you might think is not really my style, but I have a weakness for tartan.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I managed to buy 4 items with the budget, I chose a tartan dress by Alice & You (£24), ASOS Academy boots (£35), a navy embroidered jumper from New Look (on sale for £10), & a tartan headband by Johnny Loves Rosie (also on sale, £10.50), bringing my total to £79.50. In this outfit I wore the boots & dress, adding some of my girly flair to the outfit with my trusty pink angora jumper, frilly socks, and of course, a head bow!
I hope to show you the next outfits soon, I particularly love the jumper & can't wait to style it, it was a bargain at only £10!
