Earlier this year I was sent some custom made loungewear & lingerie from independent New York based designer Impish Lee, run by sisters Kali & Noelle. I was invited to create my own designs on their customizer, picking out which base design I wanted, then choosing which fabrics I wanted and finishing details. This type of customisation is new to me, especially for lingerie. I chose pieces made with white velvet, pink mesh & pink lace.
♥ ♥ ♥
I opted for their tap short, high waisted panty, and flutter top, since I was sized out of their bras, unfortunately. I would have loved to try one, but I wear a 40J, and the biggest size on the site is a UK 40GG. Shame! Impish Lee go up to a size 24 US, although based on measurements on their site, this is actually equivalent to somewhere between a size 22-24 UK. Since my hips run a bit wider than this, the shorts don't fit me *well*, obviously everything has lots of stretch, but it's still a bit small for me. The top & the panties fit me nicely though.
The top retails for $78, the shorts are $68 and the panties are also $78, which in the UK ranges from £49 - £56. This is a luxury product though, and handmade in New York, not at a factory in China as so many clothes are made nowadays. I do like to support independent designers, because as one myself I understand the struggles of people thinking your product is overpriced when in fact costs have been carefully worked out and you are only paying yourself a fair wage.
One thing I would really like to see though, aside from the size range being extended, is a small detail, custom labels inside the garments! This is a weird request, I know, since labels are often annoying to most, but I like to see some sort of branding, especially in independently designed things, as sometimes I forget where exactly I got something, and if I want to recommend something it's hard when I have no idea where it's from!

Have a play around on their customizer, since it's really fun, and if you decide to place an order, use the code Cupcakes10 to get 10% off!

P.S. I was really nervous to include the wearing shots, since I've never done that before on my blog, so please be nice :P

I've been subscribed to Lucky Dip Club for 10 months now, so I thought it was about time I reviewed it on the blog. This is the December box, themed Cats & Cocktails, which arrived before Christmas, as Leona, the brains behind the box, worked extra hard to make sure they would arrive in time.
Every month there are 5-6 indie/handmade items in the box, usually including stationery and a diy kit. This month I got a cross stitch kit, a weekly planner pad, a cat brooch, a cat themed Play Purse, a Christmas card, and the final charm of the month.
One of the things I love about Lucky Dip Club, and that makes it so unique, is that Leona often collaborates with other indie handmade small businesses. This time it's Karen Mabon, who designed the brooch, Play Purse, who made the cat purse, Tea & Crafting who designed the cross stitch kit, and Tiny Grey Cat who designed the Christmas card, who I followed on instagram for ages before this box. In previous months there have been collabs with brands like I Love Crafty, and Crown and Glory.
Everything is always super cute, and each month is themed. I think the themes I've had were Birds of Paradise, Raining Cats and Dogs, Vintage Village Fete, Dinosaur Disco, Under the Sea, A Geek Girl's Guide to Travel, Slumber Party, Biscuits, Space Girl, & Cat's & Cocktails. Even though there have been themes I've enjoyed less than others (Dinosaur Disco and Space Girl), I've never wanted to unsub, because I am genuinely excited at the end of the month when I know they are due to be popping through the door.
The box costs £18, and you can get a subscription only on the first of each month, usually super early, because they sell out quick! Or you can buy a one off version for £20 to sample the box before you commit. Lucky Dip Club was UK only this year, but I believe it will be available worldwide next year, & cost £5 for shipping (free if you live in the UK). Definitely would recommend giving this box a try if you like supporting indie businesses and getting surprises in the mail each month.

Hi again everyone! Sorry I've been so terrible AGAIN with updating the blog. But anyway, I'm back, and I have lots of new posts planned. This one is all about things that are making me feel festive. I love Christmas, so I decided to treat myself to a beauty advent calendar this year! I've not had one before, as I've seen them on plenty of blogs over the last few years.
I didn't know what one to go for, because there are so many options nowadays, I kinda wanted the Body Shop one, but at £60 it was more than I wanted to pay. I ended up with this pretty L'occitane one, which was cheaper at £40. I've opened 17 of the days so far, and I really like the contents. I have lots of pretty sample sized creams and things. There's also a few non beauty bits in there, like illustrated gift tags, and name cards, which I plan to put to use, since I'm hosting Christmas again this year. It's definitely more exciting than my chocolate calendar.
Asda bring out the cutest Christmas bedding every year, so I decided to get some. It was £12 for a double size, and now my bedroom feels very Christmassy. The Thumper pillows don't really go though, haha!
Blossoming Gifts sent me another of their bouquets to review, I picked this Cinnamon Spice one from their Christmas flower range, and it smells SO good! The cinnamon sticks really make the living room smell delightful, and the red flowers and berries certainly add a festive feel. You can still get 33% off a bouquet with code BGIFTS33.
Decorating the house for the second year! We put our tree up a few weeks ago, and I got this wreath for basically free with my Tesco clubcard points. I decorated with some of their tree decorations, also bought with my points! Would have hung it on the front door, but it's made of plastic, so can't really put a nail in the door without compromising it!
Carl & I went ice skating and Christmas shopping together in the local town centre the other week, where there was a "German" Market on. We got these adorable gingerbread hearts for each other, how cute are they? Not sure I can bring myself to eat mine, it's just decorating the dresser in the living room at the moment.

Recently the lovely people at Betty's asked me if I'd like to try one of their hampers to celebrate Yorkshire Day, which is today, August the 1st. Of course I said yes, and the other day I received a large box crammed full of lovely Yorkshire made treats!
They sent over a box of macarons, florentines, chocolate ganache bees, tea, fondant fancies, and some "Fat Rascals", which are their own special scones, along with a cute little branded Betty's mug. Everything was delightfully packaged, in cute patterned boxes, illustrated with all sorts of cakes & goodies.
Carl & I decided to have a little tea party for two, to celebrate him moving in. We made little finger sandwiches, & I arranged everything on pretty plates, & had ourselves a feast. We ended up with plenty left over, as the cakes were very filling.
My favourite things were the little bumble bees, they look almost too adorable to eat! The macarons were also a nice treat, as I've only every had one professionally made one before, I've made them in the past, but never having anything to compare them too, wasn't sure if I was making them correctly.
Overall it was a lovely treat, and I would definitely recommend ordering a hamper from Betty's for a special occasion, as their cakes have that extra "something". Or, if you are local to Yorkshire, I believe they serve afternoon tea in their tea rooms, so definitely pop in if you are in the area! I know we will be if we ever find ourselves up there.

Tsum Tsums! These recently went on sale in the Disney store, & I had to get some! I bought myself Marie, Miss Bunny & Lady, & my lovely boyfriend got me Bambi, Thumper & Dumbo. They are only £3 each, which I thought was reasonable. They do bigger sizes, but I liked the minis the best, plus they had the most variation! They are so cute!
The Body Shop! I honestly hadn't been in here since I was about 11 or so, when I used to go shopping with school friends and they would drag me in here. I saw a few youtube videos reviewing some of the things they had in there recently, so I thought I'd take a look. Of course, I completely forgot what I was searching for when I got in there, so I just looked at the things that looked most appealing. I picked up the grapefruit body scrub, & the strawberry body sorbet. Both smell delicious, especially the sorbet, which also has the most gorgeous texture & leaves my skin feeling really soft.
I then looked up online what I had wanted to get, which was the bouncy sleeping mask, so I placed an order on the site too. I also got another sorbet, the mango scented one, because I love the strawberry one so much! They have an offer at the minute to get up to 30% off, & a free gift when you spend over £10, the code is on their site, which I used, & got the Satsuma body polish pictured. I didn't realise it would be full size, so I was rather impressed when it arrived!
Fresh flowers! I got sent these lovely roses recently by Debenhams Flower Delivery service, & they smelled so nice! I am terrible at flower arranging though, & couldn't get them to look half as nice as in the picture, but they still brightened up the room considerably! Normally I buy myself cheaper flowers from grocery stores like tulips or daffodils, so it was such a treat to have a proper bouquet. They looked even nicer when the freesias bloomed fully, but I didn't get a picture of that, sadly. If you'd like to get 25% off a bouquet, you can use the code DFBLOG25!
Walter! Like I said in my last post I went away to Wales a week or so ago, so I got to spend lots of time with this lovely monster. I didn't take any outfit posts up there like I said I would, the weather was pretty terrible, but I still had a nice time.
Presents! Carl & I came home a week before my family, & they brought back this cute little figurine for me, how sweet of them!

DOLLY DARLING DRESS // ASDA CARDIGAN // PRIMARK BOW // NEXT SANDALS // KUKI SHOP BRACELET
Blogging more often is not going well, as you probably can tell. Anyway, here's an outfit from the other day. Spring is officially here, so cotton dresses & sandals it is! I'm going away next week with the family & boyfriend to North Wales, so will hopefully get a chance to take photos more often up there. Hope you are all well,

Since I don't get the chance to take outfit photos very often anymore, I thought I'd share my selfies for those of you that don't follow me on instagram. This is from the past few months, hope the low quality isn't too distracting :P Oh, & that's an ipad mini, not a giant phone, since I get that a lot, haha!

So, kinda exciting news, I've finally decided to start making clothing for others! I just added these 2 designs to Dolly Darling, they are available for the time being only in plus sizes (going to see how it goes before I add more sizes, and being plus sized I know how hard it is to find cute clothes above a size 20, so that's my focus). I really hope you all like this, over the years I've got quite a few requests for clothes, but never felt confident in my ability to do so before, so fingers crossed it all goes well. I've already got a few more ideas, and I want to add skirts pretty soon.

NEW LOOK TOP // DOROTHY PERKINS SKIRT // VERY CARDIGAN // LE BUNNY BLEU SHOES // SWATCH CARAMELLISSIMA // MEADHAM KIRCHOFF TOPSHOP HAIR BOW // MERRYFIELD POTTERY BISCUIT BROOCHES // MOONBUNNY BEAR RING
Today I have crazy poodle hair, and I love it! I did my hair in pin curls last night, for the first time ever, and this morning I unpinned & brushed though, & ended up with candyfloss hair. I might have to do this more often, it took about 30 minutes to pin it, which isn't too bad, considering the amount of hair I have. I usually don't do much with my hair, and prefer low effort things (I usually keep it braided when I am home), so this was a nice change.
I was sent this top by New Look Inspire recently, isn't it lovely? The back has this lovely double bow detail, & the fact it's pink makes me happy. I wore it with this skirt I bought from Dorothy Perkins a little while ago, I can't get enough of broderie trim skirts, and this one has a coral lining which makes it look pinkish.
