ASOS Curve Review Part II

This is the second piece that ASOS sent me, it's the pleated hip bandeau dress, in the nude colour. You might have already seen this piece on Devon from Fat Nurse, who also got sent this dress from ASOS. I really love the design, and the colour, it is so pretty! The detailing around the waist is gorgeous. The fabric is a thick poly/cotton blend, with a slight shimmer to it, which is really lovely.

Although I love it, I am going to find it hard to wear this dress, as I think it is very posh & not really suitable for casual-wear. Perfect for a wedding though! It is also a little hard to move around in this dress too, I haven't tried sitting down in it, but it seems like it might be a bit uncomfortable, as the dress has no stretch. The dress is knee length on me (I'm 5"8), which is a bit longer than I would normally wear, but it does suit this dress, & does make it more appropriate for an occasion than a shorter dress would be. Verdict: lovely, perfect for occasion-wear, but delicate & a bit tricky to move around in.

  4. As I already mentioned in my review, same issue - movement. Sitting down. I've already ripped it a tiny bit at the back but luckily it looks intentional.
It's an amazing dress, it looks f-ing amazing on both yourself and me (not to sound too self-centred.) But it's so awkward to move in! :(

  5. I really liked the black dress on you but this one...well, I don't like it. I think it makes you bigger than you are.

  9. Love the dress! I know you've previously said ebay but is there a specific ebay shop you get your tights from? They're really opaque & I want!

  11. Thanks for your comments everyone:)

kiwaczek2 - it actually is more of a pink, but ASOS have it listed as "nude"

Stephanie - They are the BBW brand, from a shop called eplussize on ebay. I actually layer 2 together for true opaqueness, they only are 40 denier alone.

  15. This one is not flattering at all, it makes you look much bigger than the black dress. I would suggest to toss it. Some dresses are just not designed for girls your size.

  16. That is a great dress, and you look great in it! As you mention though, not that many occasions to wear something like that. Then again, sometimes we have to buy things for special occasions. I've been longing to see this dress on someone who's and hourglass or figure eight shape (and actually plus sized, as opposed to the model), so seeing you in it is great!!

  23. oh dear. beautiful dress, absolutely stunning and would be fun to dress down for everyday, but the racism inherent in the colour name is really disappointing!

  25. I also featured this post on my blog, because I just bought exactly the same dress, coincidentally to wear to a wedding! I wish I'd read this post beforehand though, it's too bad everyone considers it hard to sit in...you look adorable in it!
