OOTD - Jumpers & Bows

Skirt - South @ Littlewoods // Jumper - River Island //Shoes - Next // Bow - New Look // Collar - Romwe // Ring - Oborocharms*
Felt a little like a schoolgirl in today outfit, but if my real uniform has been this cute I might have been more enthused about wearing it! Instead I had a baggy navy jumper, yellow(!) skirt, and a ugly stretchy navy skirt. No cute kilt or pretty collars on my uniform :( I was so much happier when I went to college & could finally start wearing something I actually liked!

I think schools should either abolish uniforms, or bring in something nicer to wear, like out of films! Grr! And why do secondarys never have summer dresses for the summer, like primarys? I would have been much happier if I had felt good about what I was wearing. And please none of that blah blah but everyone wears the same blah blah! Can you sense how much I detested my uniform, haha?

  2. I LOOOOVE the glasses on you!

In Canada we do not have to wear uniforms except if you were in a privately funded school. I think I'm on the other side of the uniform debate. I think they're good for those who cannot afford to buy their kids trendy stuff all the time, and there's no need to one-up each other to buy the latest brands (back in high school girls wore clothes that were just jeans and a simple t-shirt, but the t-shirt had logos on them from certain companies. It was a "status symbol"...) but hey, I totally feel you on the freedom part as well!

  12. I've never had to wear a school uniform but I can understand why you wouldn't care for them, I've always thought catholic uniforms were cute but I'd probably hate them if I had to wear them. Anywho I love this look, woot you hottie. I love the skirt and jumper, oooh at that bag! I absolutely adore the color.

  25. You look lovely! I'd love that jumper <3

I agree that uniforms can be a bit drab - ours was the increasingly-more-common unisex blazer, white shirt, school tie and trousers - but to be honest I'm glad we have them in the UK. On a non-uniform day, I once had a nasty note passed around about what I was wearing, calling me a fashion failure and a freak (and it wasn't even that bad, I played it safe and wore a white fleece from Next and a pair of jeans). Wouldn't have known if the teacher hadn't caught the perpetrators and read it, but as someone who was regularly bullied anyway, it meant the world that I was in uniform for 90% of my school life else they'd have found something else to pick on.

Anyway, this probably counts as "blah blah but everyone wears the same blah blah" so I'll stop here, haha. But I do see uniforms having a point.

  26. I actually like the idea of uniforms honestly, but your point is well-taken. I like how sweet and innocent this outfit looks--and how sexy you look in the last picture! XD

I really like you bag, but those shoes just get me excited! Have you seen any Dalmation print shoes with a thinner heel?

  29. I looove the sweater you are wearing, it's so cute and comfy looking! I feel you on the uniforms, I had to wear them both in primary school and high school.

And I can't get over how amazing your hair is!!

  30. I don't think uniforms are any good, instead people should learn to accept difference rather than trying to look all the same just to please others.

Anyway, you look lovely as always and that ring is a cutie. :)

  32. You are so adorable, what a great outfit :) I had an awful uniform too, horrible black nylon skirt and a awful baggy jumper that was upposed to be black but after about 2 washes changed to a weird shade of purple. I agree with you, I don't think there should be uniforms at all but if there are they could at lease be cute!
