I woke up today & it was snowing! I love snow, I mean I'm not keen on all the traffic jams it causes & the ice, but snow is just such a fun thing! I turn into a little kid when it snows & I always have to go out in it, even if I had just planned to stay in all day. Admittedly today it hasn't been the heaviest of snowfalls, there's barely a few mm, but still, snow!
Notice my lovely combo of socks & tights. I've been wanting to try that out for a while, but all my ordinary black tights are too opaque to layer with my socks to get the right look. So I ordered these spot ones from Simply Be. I really like the effect & this is the first time I've really worn my Sock Dreams socks. They do go up over my knee, but they don't stay up on my legs, I need some tape/glue/garters. They are the extraordinary thigh highs, & they promise to fit any size of leg. I was dubious, but actually, they do fit me well, & they are not too tight. Obviously they don't come up as high, but they are still over the knee, on my 23-24 inch calves.
The tights though, I do not have such a good review of. This is the first time I've worn them, & they already have a large hole on the upper thigh from just pulling them on. I made sure to be very delicate with them too. So that is disappointing, because I love spotty tights, & these were fairly expensive, I think £16 for 2, 1 black, 1 brown.
The tights and socks look really good how you've styled them i may have to try it sometime :)
ReplyDeleteIt a shame about your tights ripping though and considering they were 8 pound a pair they should be able to be worn more than once!

Looking lovely as usual, the pink coat, the fifi lapin brooch and the dotted tights and the accessories just give the outfit a simply soft and pretty take into winter.
ReplyDeleteyou look gorgeous! These must be the same tights that evans have because I bought their spotty ones which look exactly the same and they also ripped when I put them on. I wore them with a big hole in for one day then put them in the bin. They were also £8.I bought the biggest size which fits up to a size 32 and they only just fit. Its really frustrating trying to find nice tights that fit well! I won't waste any money on the we love colours ones after seeing your review.

That coat is just lovely and gives you a lovely shape, I want one! Those tights do look fab, it's such a shame they have ripped, when I saw them on you I wanted them but don't think I will now, they are rather expensive, it's not so bad if they last ages.

ReplyDeleteOver here in Oslo we are deep in winter with minus ten celcius and plenty of snow. it is pretty, but I really want to swim with dolphins somewhere hot right now :)

I've got the spotty tights from Simply Be and I was really impressed by them. Just goes to show nothing is consistent!! Loving the socks over tights combo...may have to try that with some of my sock dreams tights!

ReplyDeleteLove the outfit! isn´t it cold though? Maybe Im thinking about my own swedish waether ey ;) We have a meter of snow and minus 10 degrees.. No cute boots/coat or stockings for me! More like a few layers of warm leggings and snowboots.

Nice outfit, and cool nails! I love spotty tights, but haven't had the best of luck with them either, they do seem to get holes and tears much more easily than other types of tights, which is such a shame.

I absolutely adore the colour of your jacket! It suits you so well and seems so appropriately bright for winter (not over powering, just sweet) and thanks so much for the direction to sock dreams! I've been looking for thigh-high socks for so long but could never seem to find any that weren't disgustingly tight on me or didn't go over my knees. I'm so excited for these! (5'7" with 18" calves)
