♥ Things I've Been Loving ♥

Tsum Tsums! These recently went on sale in the Disney store, & I had to get some! I bought myself Marie, Miss Bunny & Lady, & my lovely boyfriend got me Bambi, Thumper & Dumbo. They are only £3 each, which I thought was reasonable. They do bigger sizes, but I liked the minis the best, plus they had the most variation! They are so cute!

The Body Shop! I honestly hadn't been in here since I was about 11 or so, when I used to go shopping with school friends and they would drag me in here. I saw a few youtube videos reviewing some of the things they had in there recently, so I thought I'd take a look. Of course, I completely forgot what I was searching for when I got in there, so I just looked at the things that looked most appealing. I picked up the grapefruit body scrub, & the strawberry body sorbet. Both smell delicious, especially the sorbet, which also has the most gorgeous texture & leaves my skin feeling really soft.

I then looked up online what I had wanted to get, which was the bouncy sleeping mask, so I placed an order on the site too. I also got another sorbet, the mango scented one, because I love the strawberry one so much! They have an offer at the minute to get up to 30% off, & a free gift when you spend over £10, the code is on their site, which I used, & got the Satsuma body polish pictured. I didn't realise it would be full size, so I was rather impressed when it arrived!

Fresh flowers! I got sent these lovely roses recently by Debenhams Flower Delivery service, & they smelled so nice! I am terrible at flower arranging though, & couldn't get them to look half as nice as in the picture, but they still brightened up the room considerably! Normally I buy myself cheaper flowers from grocery stores like tulips or daffodils, so it was such a treat to have a proper bouquet. They looked even nicer when the freesias bloomed fully, but I didn't get a picture of that, sadly. If you'd like to get 25% off a bouquet, you can use the code DFBLOG25!

Walter! Like I said in my last post I went away to Wales a week or so ago, so I got to spend lots of time with this lovely monster. I didn't take any outfit posts up there like I said I would, the weather was pretty terrible, but I still had a nice time.

Presents! Carl & I came home a week before my family, & they brought back this cute little figurine for me, how sweet of them!

photo gtretaeye.jpg Hello again everyone! It's been a while (again!). I really need to start getting back into the swing of doing outfit posts more often again. Anyway, here's one from yesterday, I wore my new-ish Hell Bunny dress, which I really love. It's so pink & pretty, & the full circle skirt is pretty fun. I teamed it with my old favourite H&M cardigan, some new shoes (which I got on sale, they were only £12), because I love my pink ones so much, & a pink bag, because every outfit needs lots of pink :p

I thought I'd show you all my new Acer mobile phone, which I very kindly got sent to do a liquid e3 review of. I've never had a smartphone before, so it's quite a novelty. My phone beforehand was one of those slidey phones from 2005, so it was time for an upgrade.

I've been using it for around a month or so now, it's pretty easy to use, & it's such a novelty being able to internet whilst out and about. I decorated a case for it that you can see above, to make it cuter, because I think most smartphones look a bit boring and plain otherwise. It has a huge screen, which with my tiny hands I kinda struggle to hold, but it makes it really good for watching stuff on the go, & facebooking & instagramming and all that jazz:p I don't really know what else to say, because like I've said, I've not had a smartphone before, so don't have much basis for comparison. It does all the regular phone stuff too, obviously, but my favourite feature is definitely being able to internet out of the house.

This phone is supposed to be really good at taking photos, so I included a shot of my outfit taken with the back camera. Obviously it doesn't compare to my dslr, but I think it's pretty good for a phone, & definitely better than my ipad mini camera. You can edit the photos on the camera too, without needing an app, which is useful.

Anyway, that's it for today, hopefully I shall be back soon with another outfit post!

Candy watch!

Today I have crazy poodle hair, and I love it! I did my hair in pin curls last night, for the first time ever, and this morning I unpinned & brushed though, & ended up with candyfloss hair. I might have to do this more often, it took about 30 minutes to pin it, which isn't too bad, considering the amount of hair I have. I usually don't do much with my hair, and prefer low effort things (I usually keep it braided when I am home), so this was a nice change.

I was sent this top by New Look Inspire recently, isn't it lovely? The back has this lovely double bow detail, & the fact it's pink makes me happy. I wore it with this skirt I bought from Dorothy Perkins a little while ago, I can't get enough of broderie trim skirts, and this one has a coral lining which makes it look pinkish.

♥ Cute Homewares ♥

I bought this plain wooden dining table & chairs from Argos a while ago, and painted it to make it more me! I took inspiration from some Cath Kidston plates I have, and did a scalloped edge design with rose centre on the table, & then painted all the chairs different pastel shades. This took what seemed like forever, the chairs were actually the hardest part, because they were so fiddly to paint and varnish.

The lovely people over at Joules recently sent me this duvet cover & matching pillowcases. The design is lovely, and the fabric sooo soft compared to all my other duvet covers. Definitely the most luxury bedding I own, now to get some sheets that match!

Today I made this lampshade, using this kit I bought on Amazon. I used my leftover Spoonflower fabric, and made it in about 30 mins or so. It's not perfect, but not bad for a first attempt. There was lots of leftover tape, so I also added some lace that I had to accent the edges. What do you think?

Finally, how cute is my kettle? I keep calling it a teapot, because it looks so much like one. It's ceramic, I'd been putting off buying a kettle for ages because I couldn't find any I liked, but then I spotted this one at Dunelm Mill, & had to get it.

♥ Easter Chocolate Nests ♥

Baking Mad recently asked me to try making a recipe from their site. As it's Easter, and I'm having a little Easter party thing on Sunday for my family & boyfriend, I thought I'd use this chocolate nest recipe. They sent me a few chocolate themed baking supplies, of which I used the chocolate flavour cake covering. I normally use proper chocolate when making these, but I figured this would work just as well, and might be softer/easier to eat.

For those that have never made chocolate cereal cakes before (you can use rice krispies, cornflakes like me, or if you want them to look more like actual nests, shredded wheat like the recipe suggests), here's a quick run through of what you need, & how to make them. The basics are chocolate, cereal of choice, & optional, paper cases & chocolate eggs. Firstly, heat your chocolate in a bain-marie on the stove until fully melted.

Then remove from heat (make sure you put the bowl on a heat proof surface!), and pour in your cereal. I do this by eye, rather than weighing it. Add more than you think you'll need, the chocolate will go further than you think when you start to crunch up the cereal. Stir until chocolate coveres the cereal completely.

Then spoon carefully into your cupcake cases, (or even directly into a bowl to make a giant nest!). Add mini eggs, or leave plain, then put in the fridge to harden. Easy peasy! Hope everyone likes these on Sunday. I'm also planning on making macarons tomorrow (hopefully 3 flavours - strawberry, violet, and chocolate, but we'll see how much time I have). I'm not religious, but Easter is one of my favourite holidays, purely for all the pastel colours, and bunnies & cute things! I'm having great fun organising everything for Sunday, hopefully everyone else will like what I've done!

♥ Pink on Pink ♥

 photo fthdtyer.jpg photo rsgrgtergr.jpg
ASOS CURVE SKIRT // SOUTH CARDIGAN (HAND EMBELLISHED) // ASOS SHOES // EVANS BLOUSE // TKMAXX BAG // MAGASIN BIRD RING // DOLLY DARLING FLORAL KITTEN HEADBAND // DOLLY DARLING POM POM RING // DOLLY DARLING RAINBOW QUARTZ RING // 100% SUZI BROOCH* // TIGHTS C/O OF THE BIG TIGHTS COMPANY

Hello again everyone! Sorry it's been such a long time since I last posted, I've been pretty busy over the last few months and haven't had a chance to update the blog. After a lovely picnic in a local park, my boyfriend and I wandered down by the canal, I finally got some outfit photos for you, so I hope you enjoy.

I was sent these tights by The Big Tights Company a while back, in deep pink, to review. I am always on the lookout for new places to buy tights in my size, it's so hard to find decent ones that fit and are comfortable!

Anyway, on to my review - I got these tights in the largest size, which is a size 34-36. I'm not that size, but with tights I always try and size up, because they usually come up small, whatever the brand! They do fit well, but I'm not entirely convinced that they would fit the size advertised, but maybe a size or two larger than me. These particular tights come in 3 colours, pink, black and purple. I chose the pink, obviously. They are pretty thick and feel like they will wear well.

For comparisons sake they are thicker and feel firmer than my We Love Colors tights, they are also a bit shinier. I also didn't have a problem with them falling down, which I do tend to with my We Love Colors tights. They bunched a bit around the ankles, but the waistband stayed firmly in place. I also have a problem with tights because of my height (5'9), but these had plenty of length in the legs, so I didn't have a problem with them.

The only downsides to these tights are the price (£16.95), but I usually have to pay about £10 each + international shipping + customs fees for my We Love Colors, so they are probably a similar price overall, and obviously being based in the UK meant that they arrived quicker. Obviously there aren't as many colours, but next time I need new black tights I'm certainly going to be buying these. The company also offers other brands of plus size tights, which I would be interested to try, but I can't comment on those.

Sorry once again for my unplanned absence, I am going to try & post a lot more regularly now that things have calmed down a bit!

♥ Blippo Review ♥

 photo fhdfhd.jpg
Recently I was sent some cute stuff by the online shop Blippo.com. They specialise in everything kawaii, ranging from cute stationery, to Japanese magazines, to accessories & more. I picked out a few cute things to try, including an ice cream shaped sundae glass (though made out of plastic) & spoon, some "mixed drops" (chosen because I liked the Hello Kitty tin, & a cute DIY food craft kit thingy. They also sent me some orange flavoured chewy candy & a key ring.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I've tried the mixed drops (which are boiled sweets covered in icing sugar), which were nice, mainly fruit flavoured, but I was a bit surprised to try a green one & find out it was mint flavoured! The tin is adorable though, Hello Kitty is made of clouds & it's pink & has rainbows, so automatically awesome. I'm going to use it to store trinkets or craft supplies in once all the sweets are gone. I've also tried the orange candy, it was nice, very chewy & had these weird gummy things in that looks like the sacs of juice in a real orange. Candy from other countries is always fun to try, it's usually so different. In the past I've mainly tried American stuff, usually receiving it in craft swaps and such, so it was a nice change to try Japanese things.
 photo dgsgswe.jpg
The DIY craft food kit thingy I've opened but not made yet, though I might do a separate post on that at some point. It looks fun though, & I think they sell it for something like £3 something, which seems pretty decent, as kits like this can often be overpriced. The sundae cup is adorable, I can't decide yet whether I actually want to use it for it's purpose, or do what I was originally going to do, & store cute bits & pieces in it. Probably the latter, because I rarely, (if ever!) make sundaes at home. The shipping was pretty quick too, from Hong Kong to the UK took around a week I think. No customs charges either, which is always good! So yes, would definitely recommend a look if you like all things cute like me!

I hope you all are well, & looking forward to Christmas (or other holiday!). I know I said in my last post I had to cook Christmas dinner this year, but plans have changed, my grandparents recently invited us to theirs, so looks like I don't have to struggle with doing that, this year at least, haha! Thanks for all your tips though, I am sure they will come in useful for me in the future (should probably learn how to cook properly at some point after all!). I've been feeling quite Christmassy today, I was wrapping presents the other night, & today I picked up a Playmobil advent calendar after seeing some Youtubers open theirs. It's pretty awesome! Charlotte got one too, & it was super fun catching up to day 4 all in one go. So far I have 2 trees, 2 badgers, 2 squirrels, a bird, some snow, cauliflowers & a tree stump, haha!

Will update again soon, I have a few more photos to share, I might ramble on some more (I think I probably talked too much in this post!

Sorry it's been so long since I've done a post! Managed to take photos yesterday thanks to my lovely boyfriend♥. Lovedrobe recently offered me an item of my choice, & I picked out this peachy organza dress, in a size 26. Apologies for not getting a clear picture of just the dress, but it was too cold to not wear either my jumper or a coat with it!
 ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
The dress is a really pretty colour & design, with little cap sleeves, a satin lining, & organza overlay, which has fuzzy stripes on it. I must say though, sizing wise it runs pretty small, this probably fits like a 24, possibly a bit smaller. It was a struggle zipping it past my boobs, & also tight on the waist. Wearable, but not that comfortable. I should have probably ironed it, the organza is also a bit creased after coming through the post, but I'm a bit apprehensive about ironing organza, anyone have any tips? I don't want to burn or shrink it, haha.
 photo asdfasdwq.jpg photo fhrhy.jpg
The coat you've seen me wear before, I got it for Christmas last year from my Grandparents, as well as the ring, which was from my Mum & her boyfriend. The watch was also a Christmas gift, from Charlotte, several years back! I've only just got around to getting some links taken out so it fit me properly, so decided to wear it today, seeing as it matched the ring & the peachy theme I had going on.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
After getting these ASOS boots in green & seeing how comfy they were, I just had to buy the black version too, when they momentarily came back in stock in my size. I rarely see boots I like, & when I do, I seem to buy multiple colours! The jumper is by a brand I've never heard of, but I saw it on ASOS & despite only going up to a 16, I decided to try it anyway, because I often have luck with oversized things, especially knitwear, which is stretchy anyway. It fits me just how I like it, pretty fitted, & ending on the waist. It's made of a really soft angora blend, & was so warm & cosy. I did keep moulting fluff everywhere though, haha, but I love angora stuff too much to care. It's a really lovely peach colour, although I think it also comes in a cream & a pale & bright blue.
