Okay then...?

I was really unsure whether to share this with you, but I don't want to be one of those bloggers that only shares positive things with you (although I have been guilty of it in the past). Fatshion blogging takes a lot of guts, but it also gives back tenfold. Even when I get negative comments (for promoting an unhealthy lifestyle, daring to be fat, etc), I usually just ignore them. Negative comments don't affect me as much any more. That is not to say they don't affect me at all, because I don't think anyone is impervious to critiscm. But recieving an email with this picture in it really threw me. There were no words in the email, just this picture. I'm not actually sure how I am supposed to take it, it it supposed to show me how much better I'd be if I was skinny? Or is it merely a comparison, without any negativity intended? Possibly even to show me I look better as I am?

Eitherway, I'd really prefer it if people could refrain from altering my photos, after all, I do hold the copyright. Good photoshopping though.

New Brooch.

Hey guys, just wanted to quickly show you my new brooch. It's by one of my favourite artists, Audrey Kawasaki. How lovely is it? I'm so pleased with it! I actually managed to buy this with the money I made from doing a blog sale a few months ago, so thank you guys! :D

Beth Ditto @ Evans

Yes yes, I know I'm behind the times, but I still wanted to add my thoughts on the Beth Ditto collection at Evans. I always seem to be on holiday when Evans bring out their limited ranges (I missed the launch of Ruby Belle as well! *sad face*).

I haven't actually bought anything from the collection, so I have no photos to show you of anything on. Lauren & Em both have some great dressing room pics, so you can see the fit on a real body, not just a mannequin.

Personally, I am not overly in love with the collection, it seems to be a bit lacking in colour & the designs aren't as "out there" as the previous collection. This is bearing in mind I wasn't entirely keen on the previous collection either, hehe. I did buy the stain glass dress last time, but only after it went on sale. I think with this collection too, that if some of the pieces I like go on sale, I probably will buy them, but I don't love anything enough to pay the slightly inflated prices.

Pieces I do like are the polka dot dress, although I wish it had shorter & puffier sleeves. I also wish it had a solid collar like the one Beth Ditto is wearing in the promo pics, I'm not sure why Evans made it spotty for final production- you can't see the peter pan collar as easily that way. I also like the heart cropped cardigan, and the cameo belt. I also think the cape is cute, having seen it on Lauren. I wouldn't have noticed it otherwise.

What did you think, are you pleased? Disappointed? Ambivalent? I am the latter, but it is good to see Evans doing special ranges. I also am hoping their new sister store, Style 369, will produce some good offerings. Things look a bit boring atm, but it seems it might be a little like ASOS Curve- disappointing launch, but (hopefully) dramatically improving. I read somewhere that it was supposed to be the fat girls Topshop, & I do so hope that will be true! After all, Arcadia does own Topshop too, so there is no reason why it couldn't.

Wales

Hey all! I am finally back from my 2 weeks away in North Wales. It is nice to be back, although much more relaxing up there! I didn't really get many outfit posts, unfortunately it rained a lot of the time & I only took photos on 2 days, forgetting once to take an outfit photo. So instead all I have are other snaps, mainly beach scenes of our 2 doggies. :) Also - please excuse the wellies in the above photo, lol. They are v beach worthy, but not exactly matching with my outfit!

I do have more to post about soon, incl my opinions on the Beth Ditto line, & also that ASOS review I promised before I left, so do check back.

Short Break

Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know that I am going to be away for 2 weeks. I am going back up to North Wales again, hopefully I will have some lovely pictures to show you on my return. I didn't get a chance this week to review my last piece that ASOS sent me, I will do it when I get back - sorry! I've been busy packing - it's a rather stessful experience for me, esp when I have to choose between "practical" & "pretty"! :( North Wales will probably be quite cold & wet this time of year, but I've tried to keep my packing somewhere in between, not that I own anything truly practical - eek! We are leaving at 3am tomorrow morning, so not long now until I go. Hope you guys don't miss me too much,

ASOS Curve Review Part II

This is the second piece that ASOS sent me, it's the pleated hip bandeau dress, in the nude colour. You might have already seen this piece on Devon from Fat Nurse, who also got sent this dress from ASOS. I really love the design, and the colour, it is so pretty! The detailing around the waist is gorgeous. The fabric is a thick poly/cotton blend, with a slight shimmer to it, which is really lovely.

Although I love it, I am going to find it hard to wear this dress, as I think it is very posh & not really suitable for casual-wear. Perfect for a wedding though! It is also a little hard to move around in this dress too, I haven't tried sitting down in it, but it seems like it might be a bit uncomfortable, as the dress has no stretch. The dress is knee length on me (I'm 5"8), which is a bit longer than I would normally wear, but it does suit this dress, & does make it more appropriate for an occasion than a shorter dress would be. Verdict: lovely, perfect for occasion-wear, but delicate & a bit tricky to move around in.

ASOS Curve Review

Sorry for my short absence, I have been a bit under the weather recently :( I am okay again now, & have some lovely things to show you! The lovely people at ASOS Curve sent me some beautiful items for me to review. This is the first of three posts reviewing the things they sent me, expect the rest next week:)

The first item I chose was this gorgeous lace trim organza dress. I fell in love with it when I first saw it, but it was a bit out of my budget (£75). I was going to save up for it, as I love it so, but when I got offered the chance to review some pieces, I obviously jumped at the chance of this dress. There is a reason for the price though, the quality is lovely, & the style is so nice!

I really love the way the skirt flared out from the waist, this is a pretty shape on me. You could dress this up for a posh event, or down to wear during the day. I would definately wear this out in the daytime, although my family do tell me I like to overdress! Better to overdress than underdress though, hehe. All my reviews are 100% my opinion, but I really don't have a bad thing to say about this dress, I love it!
