NOTD - Pink & Glitter Flocked

Just a quick NOTD - glitter fuzzy nails! I saw some velvet nails on Tumblr a short while back & fell in love. I decided to try my own fuzzy nails, not as luxe as actual velvet, but I still love the flocked effect. I did it on falsies, thought flocking my own nails might be tricky, but it was surprisingly easy, so might try my real nails next time. Totally impractical, but super cute! What do you think, would you ever have flocked (or velvet) nails?

Just snippets of my weekend outfit. After looking back through the photos I realised that I didn't like the outfit as a whole, but I liked individual elements, so am only sharing the bits I did. Like my candy themed pallette, & my whimsical jewellery.

I also did a bit of shopping this weekend, & scored this awesome handmade solid wood mini chest. I've wanted something like this since forever, but never found one before. Now I am on the hunt for a wall shelf like Kate's, anyone spotted one in the UK? I always need more storage haha!

I've filled it up with all my bits already, my desk is much more tidy now!

Also updated the shop with a few new pieces yesterday, inlcuding the floral headband I showed you last week. I also put in fuzzy deer brooches (see below:P), hedgehog earrings, bird rings, a lace collar & more! I'm also working on 2 new collections, might show you some sneek peeks soon!

OOTD - Brocade Doll

The lovely people over at Cherry Velvet Plus were kind enough to send me their Peggy dress in fuschia to try out & review. It got held up for a while in customs, so do bear in mind you will most likely have to pay customs & be patient, if you are ordering from the UK at least. Cherry Velvet is a Canadian company, which stocks retro style dresses, all made in Canada. They are fairly pricy, but the quality is great & the fit perfect. Their sizes go up to a 3x, which is about a UK 26, the size I got.
It's quite a glam dress, made out of a thick brocade, so for daytime wear I toned it down with my trusty H&M cardigan, & added some cute accessories. The skirt is quite poofy anyway, but I decided to wear my Domino Dollhouse petti underneath too, for extra poof!

Finally got the chance to wear my beloved Callooh & Callay brooch ♥

Drawing again

Been painting more, & since I bought a new sketchbook (for the bargainous price of £1.49 from Dunelm Mill!), thought I'd fill it up with some more of my girls. Used a mixture of gouache (my favourite medium), & coloured inks. Anyway, I shall shut up now! Should be back tomorrow with an outfit post though, so do check back soon! x

Do you like my bag? It used to be my Mum's, but she had a clearout recently & I stole it off her, haha! I love things that have a little history behind them!

This outfit is really similar to the one I wore the last time I wore this dress, oops! I need to remember to experiment more! Also, do you like my new shoes? They're from Zalando, who kindly sent me a voucher to try something from their site. I picked out these suede maryjanes by Rocketdog & they are lovely & so comfortable! Suede does seem to attract every little speck though!

Odds & Ends

This last week has been quite dull outside, & cold. Snapped a few pics from my bedroom window of the snowy street & also lots of seagulls? They were all swooping outside the window & then settling on a lampost, rather odd behaviour I thought! Don't normally see seagulls, I don't live near the sea, but especially not lots of them flying like maniacs outside, maybe they don't like the cold either?

Been spending much too much recently too, placed a Topshop order & got these lovely sorbet coloured socks & old fashioned shoes. Even managed to snag a oversized pastel flecked snuggly cardi & it fits perfectly, in a 16! First thing I've ever bought from Topshop, clotheswise. Shame I can't buy anthing I like, have to stick to the stretchy oversized stuff for now! Also got a pretty peach lace dress from New Look Inspire, which suits my current love of candy colours!

Things still aren't great for me at the moment, but chin up I guess. Have been distracting myself not only by shopping, but by working on some new pieces for Dolly Darling. I am a little in love with my new headband, I've made one for me too! So expect to see it in an OOTD post soon :)

Anjolee Review

When Anjolee, an online jewellers specialising in anniversary rings for women & bridal sets rings, among other things, offered to send me something to review, of course I jumped at the chance. I don't own much "proper" jewellery, only a few pieces & only one other ring! The bridal set ring I chose was the prong set diamond band, but set with topaz instead. Even though I'm not a bride, nor about to be, I still think this ring is beautiful. Why do couples get to have all the fun?

I chose topaz & gold, because it reminds me of my Granny's engagement ring, which I love, especially how the blue & gold look together. It's very delicate, but still sturdy & well made. If you are lucky enough to have someone who wants to buy you jewellery, or fancy treating yourself this Valentine's day, I'd definitely recommend Anjolee. There might not be quite enough time to get it before the day, but even shipping from America to the UK only took 6 days to get to me, another plus!

Made this cute matching collar to my mittens yesterday, so thought I'd coordinate an outfit with them. Had to make the collar, because I find the ASOS ones a bit small for my liking! :( Anyway, it didn't take long, only about 15 mins, so I might make more of these in different faux furs. I was originally also going to wear nicer shoes (black suede cut out mary janes) , but they were definitely not snow friendly! This past week is the first time it has been properly cold this winter, & I hear more snow is on the way.

An Update

Had a rubbish past few days/week. Having a few problems with our dogs, which has been really upsetting, & I really hope it will all work out okay in the end :( Been trying to distract myself with painting, but it's not really working. Sad too to have missed Plus London, but the snow we've had would have most likely made it a nightmare to get back anyway. I hope everyone else had a good time though!

Sorry for the not so happy update, hopefully my next post will be brighter. That's all the words I have the energy for (to top it off I think I'm coming down with something!), so until next time ♥

Cute Kitty Makeup

Paul & Joe Cat Collection Blusher Stick in Minou // Paul & Joe Cat Collection Matte Pressed Powder // Pixi Glow Magic Tink Tint

When I saw the cuteness that was Paul & Joe Cat Collection on the blog Petit Chatons, I knew I absolutely had to buy one or two pieces! I remembered an email in my inbox from ASOS earlier, that had said about Paul & Joe makeup, but as I am usually not really into makeup I overlooked it & paid no attention to it. After seeing how cute everything was, I quickly clicked over to ASOS & snapped up the pressed powder (now sold out!) & one of the blush sticks. Whilst I was at it I also bought a tinkerbell themed lip tint by Pixi Glow.

I haven't had the chance to use anything yet, but I'll let you know how I get on! I am not the biggest makeup person, I bought these purely because they were so adorable. I'm not even sure I really want to use the blush stick for fear of spoiling the kitty's head, haha! These weren't cheap, with an RRP of between £12 & £28), but I managed to get 20% off, & with the justification that I rarely buy makeup, I allowed myself a little splurge!
