Does anyone else like swapping? I love it, I join a lot of craft swaps on Craftster & swap things with people all over the world. I was recently in a international snack swap, which is even more fun, because you get to try things you normally can't find in your country. Pictured above are some of the treats I got in my package. Yummy! Who doesn't love Lucky Charms after all? I sent out lots of English goodies to my partner, like Dairy Milk & Monster Munch. I love sending (& recieving) surprise packages in the mail. Unless I've ordered something, then post normally=bills, so a swap package every now & then is very exciting.
I've always wanted to try penpal-ing too, but never found anyone else interested in sending letters& little gifts to each other :(
Cool and yummy!
ReplyDeleteI participated in a livejournal community ages ago called theletterchain and i exchanged letters with a lot of people, it was so fun to receive letters with goodies from all over the world, I received some candy from different countries too and that was so cool.
ps: I always read your blog but never really comment, I think this is maybe my first time :)
I've always wanted to do a swap but have never really had the chance or time too :(
ReplyDeleteI've also always wanted a pen-pal! It's great chatting over the internet etc, but I miss the old fashion hand written letters and pretty cards <3
Love your blog as always :) If you ever want a penpal let me know! hehe xxxx
amazing! i was just talking to my friend about this yesterday! she wanted to organize a candy swap on a forum we're on! But all i ever do is send, and i never get anything back :( so I wasn't to excited about it really, even tho i really really want it to work! People love to receive but not to send ._.
ReplyDeleteI *love* having pen pals & write/send tons of letters every week! I also enjoy sending packages to people because it's so much fun !! YAY !!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's just hard because sometimes I feel like I put in all the effort & end up doing all of the sending & writing & giving & even though it's not the most important thing in the world, it's sad to not be on the receiving end sometimes.
This may be a bit of an odd post, since it's the first time I'm writing a comment to you (I love you blog and read it as often as I possibly can)...
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I love sending people stuff, (and especially sweets, 'cause I think Finland has a lot to offer in that department...) so I was thinking, if you'd be intersted in receiving Finnish sweets (candies, cookies, chocolates...)
I'd love to send you some!
(my email is franziska.buhler(at)uta.fi )
I used to penpal all the time and loved it. I've been meaning to pick it back up for years, actually, beyond the locals I already write to so if you are ever actually interested in it, feel free to email me for an exchange [Nezumitoo [at] hotmail [dot] com] =3
ReplyDeleteThat seems really fun. I used to have a pen pal from Africa, she sent an African chocolate bar which was nice.
ReplyDeleteThe best sweets I've ever had aren't available where I live, so snack swapping seems great.
I love, love the idea of a international food swap. If anyone wants anything Australian I would be happy to participate in one:)
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely idea and Lucky Charms - YUM! I'm craving them now! x
ReplyDeleteI am a total mail geek and that is due to my excessive swapping;) All my mail goes direct to work and my work mates are always jealous of my parcels.
ReplyDeleteI've done a international snack swap before and its SO fun - looks like you recieved a great package:)
Love the post darling. I will absolutely exchange love notes with you! I love being a pen-pal. I still keep in contact with the one that I started writing with in elementary school years ago. <3
ReplyDeleteP.S. Lucky Charm are also my fav!!
how did you get in on a snack swap, is there a forum or something? i've done this before with usa and new zealand friends, but would love to do it with others too!!
ReplyDeleteMmmm I love American sweeties so much Reeses pieces are my favourite. I love swapping a lot, but don't get to do it very often.
ReplyDeleteI too miss getting and sending *real* letters and goodies in the mailbox so I would LOVE a penpal.
ReplyDeleteAs ya now I'm in New Zealand so count me in!xxx
eek I meant *know*
ReplyDeleteI miss Monster Munch so much. I'll be dreaming of the pickled onion ones tonight.
ReplyDeleteIf you want anything American in return for some crisps I will oblige you my dear :D
If my home's only closer to yours, I'd love to be your penpal and swapmate. Used to do that when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteI love sending and receiving mail! I have a penpal here in America, but that's about it. (She's an friend of mine from elementary school.) I wish I had more people to write to and receive from but no one seems to be interested in that sort of thing anymore.
